McD teaches Bodypump

Having recently qualified as a Bodypump instructor it seemed only fitting that McD taught the good folk of RCL in a class for his session. Porno, Bob Bell, Drumsey (county appearance!!!), Wineborn, Knowles and (future RCLer) Matt Turk joined the class at the fantastic Soho Gyms Waterloo studio. McD team-taught the class with the legendary instructor and hero of RCL Olivia.

Bodypump is 60-minute workout that challenges all of the major muscle groups by using weighted exercises such as squats, presses, lifts and curls. This fitness training focuses on high repetition movements with low weight loads. Tracks were:

  1. Warm up
  2. Squats
  3. Chest
  4. Back
  5. Triceps
  6. Biceps
  7. Lunges
  8. Shoulders
  9. Core
  10.  Cool down

McD took the first half of the class and showed off his newly learned motivational lines. Olivia then proceded to pick the 5 hardest tracks she could find from the back catalogue and murder everyone! Everything hurt a lot the next day. We burned approximately 800 calories in the session so we popped over to the pub afterwards to sink at least 1600 calories of beer.

Standout moments. Winbum being called out for his lunge technique by another class member, Knowles for the biggest weights, Bob Bell for audible groans throughout and Turk for actually listening to the instructor!
