Clock Action 2
Tonight’s session was topical… fortunately, it didn’t involve any sexual harassment or rape accusations, it was simply based on the clocks going back at the weekend. Three of us – myself, Dave and our very own Big Ben – ghosted around the park on Halloween.
This was actually a repeat of the session I did last year when the clocks went back. I set up a circle with 12 cones to represent numbers on a clock face and each cone had a different exercise associated with it:
- Push ups
- Star jumps
- Jump squats
- Side plank grave diggers
- Mountain climbers
- Air squats
- Plank jacks
- Spiderman push ups
- Russian lunges
- Shoulder press
- Tuck jumps
- Burpees
We did an initial walk round the circle with 10 reps of each exercise to familiarise ourselves. It was a later start – 7.30pm – so then we got cracking.
For the first part we jogged round the circle, we took turns to call a number and then sprinted round to that cone where we did 10 reps of the designated exercise. Then straight up and running again. We did this until we had each called three numbers.
A short rest then in to the second part. We started at 12 o’clock, sprinted to the middle of the circle, sprinted back to 1 o’clock where we did 5 reps of exercise 1, then sprinted back to the middle and back to cone 2 to do exercise 2, and so on….we did this all the way round the circle so we went through all 12 exercises.
We finished by repeating the first part of the workout, running round the circle and each calling a number. The plan was to call all 12 numbers, I think we got to 9 but as it was past 8pm we called it a night. Time waits for no man.
