Le Mans 24 Hour

Session: Knowles

A sweaty but social evening with McD, Greg, PLB and I saw us burn plenty of fuel in the Le Mans challenge, but ending putting it all back and more at BBQ Tuesdays in the Normanby.

Rules:

Stay the course without slowing or breaking down, with a two-stop (water) refuelling strategy permitted.

  1.       Practice session – Cardio is king (5 mins)

Whilst the rest cruise, the other motors around the track (cricket pitch) until returning to the traffic, handing over the pace-lap.

  1.       G-force (10 mins)

Dealing with the G force requires a strong core – at the end of every lap, each led by a different driver, stop for a minute of:

  1. a)      Sit-ups
  2. b)      Side planks threading the needle – left
  3. c)       Side planks threading the needle – right
  4. d)      Bicycle sit-ups
  5. e)      Ivor 6 inch leg lifts
  6.       Strength (3 mins)

Tyre change requiring strength – cricket pitch and back with one driver carrying another.

  1.       Shape for the start-line models (10 mins)

Mental strength is also key and this is helped through looking good for the ladies, with training concentrating on the upper body. At the end of every lap, each led by a different driver, stop for a minute of:

  1. a)      Press-ups
  2. b)      Shoulder press
  3. c)       Burpees
  4. d)      Plank builders
  5. e)      Dips
  6.       Speed (5 mins)

10x sprints of the cricket pitch

  1.       Endurance (4 mins)

1 balls-out lap of the park. Our US Team owner Philie then arrived to claim the credit for the team’s effort and lead us to the nearest watering hole.
